Curcumin can quite literally help you re-build failing body tissues and help you re-build your life.
Creaky joints? Failing memory? Too high blood sugar? Fatty liver?
Curcumin can help.
I read with fascination a recent article on tissue regeneration on one of my favorite website GreenMedInfo.com.
The article cites research that confirms that at least six body tissues can be regenerated with proper nutrition. Of the six, curcumin has been proven to help regenerate four types of cells that have profound effects on health.
- Nerve cells: Until just a decade or so ago, medical science insisted that we were born with all of the brain cells we would ever have. Now, science has discovered that we can make new brains cells, and particularly new nerve cells. That means we can fight off the neuronal degeneration that is a key factor in Alzheimer’s diseases. A growing body of research confirms that curcumin helps slow the process of Alzheimer’s and can even helps re-build damaged and disappearing neurons, rebuilding those “electrical” networks that sometimes become broken with age. Other nerve cell regenerators: blueberry, ginseng, resveratrol, coffee.
- Liver regeneration: Liver damage can be caused by a variety of diseases, obesity (causes fatty liver disease) and alcoholism. Curcumin is an important component in regenerating damaged liver cells. Nearly 100 studies have shown curcumin’s ability o protect and regenerate liver cells, particularly those in people with diabetes. Other liver regenerators: Rooibos (the tea South Africans love so much), vitamin E, Korean ginseng.
- Beta cells in the pancreas: Beta cells store and release insulin the pancreas and help the body balance blood sugars. Beta cells are destroyed by the body’s immune system in Type 1 diabetes, so the body can no longer naturally balance its glucose levels. Animal studies have shown that rats with Type 1 (insulin dependent) diabetes regenerated new and healthy cells within six months of taking curcumin. Other nutrients shown to regenerate beta cells: vitamin D, avocado, stevia, berberine and sulforaphane (found in cruciferous veggies like broccoli).
- Cartilage/joint/spine: Curcumin has been study-proven to regenerate damaged spinal cord tissues after an injury. Its anti-inflammatory properties also make curcumin an excellent choice for anyone with osteoarthritis because it helps regenerate the cushioning cartilages in joints, especially in knees and hips. Resveratrol has also been shown to regenerate joint tissues.
These remarkable healing effects of curcumin, extracted from the turmeric rhizome that gives curry its distinctive yellow color, are just a fraction of its scientifically validated healing effects.
There are no negative side effects to taking curcumin and you have everything to gain, including protection from cancer, heart disease, depression, obesity and more.
I consider it my multi-vitamin. I plan to take it daily for the rest of my life.
